Sri Lanka, here we come!

Packing a reduced weight bag, and getting ready for the “mozzies” in Sri Lanka and India – Chris laughs at our efforts as he’s in Istanbul now, about to fly into Venice, Italy!

Well, I’d rather be prepared with our mozzie nets, flynet hats from our Alice Springs and Uluru trip, pest repellent, and malaria pills than not!  More about Sri Lanka and India later … Australia and the Outback was pretty wild!  Keep an eye out for our posting!

Comments please!  It makes us feel like someone’s reading! ‘C)

    Hello Jeannie~

Of course I have been reading all the postings, being amazed every time, and worried if I had not heard from you for awhile.

What an experience that it will not only nature you rest of your life but Chris and Amy for rest of their lives.

What a decision you made and how amzing you are carrying on your march!

    Love,

    Youngsin.

    • Thanks, Youngsin, haven’t heard from YOU in awhile either! Yeah, we’ve been busy, and sometimes it’s hard to write for the blog when we are so active. Our stay in Perth was a deliberate slow down to catch up a bit before we head into the next part of our journey. I have sooooooooooo much to say and want to write, but, alas, time is the luxury in our lives, isn’t it? Will try to do better from here on out – so that no one will wonder if we fell off the face of the earth! Stay in touch.

I’m reading! Envious of all your adventures – though I just had a baby girl and am having an adventure of new parenthood myself!

    • Ursula! Congratulations, and welcome to the “neighborhood” of parenthood! Just imagine the wonders of the world when your baby sees it all with you later. Amy was 2-1/2-years-old when she first traveled, and even now remembers – albeit vaguely – her time in Japan. Thanks for your comment!

We have read all you guys’ postings and pictures. Looking great. Chris was riding the unicycle! In one post, Amy was sleeping. You all have a l lot of fun. What a world class experience! Moving forward. Take care.

    • John and Siu! Thank you for your comments – it’s good to know that we have some readership – ha ha! How are the neighbors in the house we were renting?

Amy and I are waiting in the Kuala Lampur airport to board the flight to Colombo right now. Nice airport! But, either prices are marked way up for the airport prices, American products or chocolates, or the exchange rate sucks – or all of the above – but a bag of Hershey’s Kisses cost RM29 (exchange for RM to US$ is 3), making them cost about $10! At home, the same bag would cost at the most $4, but more likely $3.50 or less. OK, hoping that things don’t cost quite so much for regular stuff in Colombo and Sri Lanka in general…

It’s great to read about your adventures. The recent one was in New Zealand. Keep it up.

Am enjoying reading about everything, especially the new years’ events and photos. But when I click on the Photo Albums in these new posts, they come up empty. Your photos are so lovely, I’m sorry I can’t see them!

You are so lucky to be able to be on this long journey, to afford it, to have the time for it, and to have people to keep the home fires burning while you are gone. What an incredible gift it is!!

    • Ah, thanks for letting me know – I’m trying out Window’s Limewriter – a blog writer that allows me to edit offline and then publish. Apparently, offline, it won’t load the albums once online. Quirky of Microsoft eh? Must be a “feature” – ha ha! Will see what I can do to fix the albums. Thanks for letting me know!
